What is a Clinical Trial?

Clinical trials (also known as clinical studies) are carefully controlled scientific investigations. They help us find better ways to diagnosis and treat medical conditions. Before any clinical trial can begin, it must be reviewed by regulatory boards which work to protect the safety and rights of trial participants. Hundreds of thousands of people take part in clinical trials each year. To learn more about clinical trials, check out our clinical trial FAQ.
